11th December 2005 -
Cup Semi-Final first leg - Royals 1-0 Presteigne
Royals overcame the North Division champions
Presteigne, in the first leg of the cup semi final this morning, by
a single goal. Tom Lewis leapt above his marker to head home from a
Joe Hearle corner, with just 5 minutes remaining.
Royals had the better of the first half and could
have been 2 or 3 goals up at half time. However the post and
Presteigne's keeper kept the score at 0-0. Presteigne came good in
the second half and Royals found themselves on the back foot for
much of the period. When Royals did attack the Presteigne goal,
stout defending prevented them from scoring.
Royals must now wait until after Christmas to see if
their one goal lead will be enough to take to the return leg at
Presteigne, as the return leg has been postponed from next weekend.
A full report will appear
here.
8th December 2005 - Presteigne showdown set for
this Sunday
Royals take on North Division champions Presteigne
this Sunday at St Lawrence's, in what should be the match of the
season so far. This effectively is the first leg of a 2 legged
semi-final and both teams go into the games with a 100% record so
far.
Royals have a near full squad to choose from, with
the only injury worry being Rory Smith who sustained a knee injury
against Ludlow West.
The match kicks off at 10:00am.
The second leg is planned for Sunday 18th December.

4th December 2005 - Celebrations at St Lawrence's
There was a party atmosphere at St Lawrence's school
today after Royals beat Ludlow West 8-1 in their final league game
of 2005. Royals started where they left off yesterday and played
some super football against a team who had just the day before
beaten the second place club Craven Arms, by 2-0.
After the game the players were presented with their
trophies and new waterproof jackets.
A full match report will appear
here.
3rd December 2005 - Super Royals win U10 South
Division
Royals today were crowned as 2005/06 U10 South
Division champions after an emphatic 16-1 win at Tenbury South made
sure that they cannot now be caught at the top of the table.
In the end the result was immaterial as second place
club Craven Arms, the only other team that could have caught the
Royals lost 2-0 to Ludlow West.
Royals played some majestic football and commanded
proceedings from the moment the whistle blew.
A full match report will appear
here.
2nd December 2005 - Royals close to Southern
Division title
Royals go into the first of their weekend games
knowing that a single point will probably give them the title, but a
win will definitely secure it. In a busy weekend, they travel to
Tenbury on Saturday morning for their fixture against Tenbury South,
which could be a potential banana skin due to the distance and the
recent weather. Then on Sunday they entertain Ludlow West in a
re-arranged home game. Ludlow West will prove to be tough opponents
as they must secure a point to ensure they play in Division 1 after
Christmas.
Kick off times as follows:-
Tenbury South (away) - Saturday, 10:30am
Ludlow West (home) - Sunday, 11:00am
