29th October 2006 - Royals errors punished by
Ludlow North
Royals crashed 2-5 to Ludlow North at the SBS
Stadium today. The team looked stale and were punished for their
errors by the pacey Ludlow forwards. All 5 Ludlow goals were scored
on the break and although Royals had 5 players coming back after
absence managers Smith and Miles will be hoping that the team beds
in quickly, with some important games coming up.
Royals were possibly unlucky not to come away with
at least a point as they missed 3 or 4 good chances.
Goals were from Hearle, Carless-Turland and Bourne.

26th October 2006 - Ludlow North match preview
Royals travel to the SBS Stadium this weekend to
take on Ludlow North. Their opponents are an U12 team so Royals will
have their work cut out if they are to return successful.
Although Ludlow are top of the table and have scored
34 goals to date, they are also prone to conceding goals and have
leaked 13 goals as opposed to Royals miserly 4.
Joe Hearle, Luke Miles and Jacob Allan should all be
available for selection, whilse Carless-Turland and Smith are both
injury doubts with groin strains.
The match takes place on Sunday with a 10:30 kick
off.
24th October 2006 - Grass training this week for
Royals
Training has been brought forward by an hour to make
use of the light and to enable the squad to train on grass.
The session will take place at the Meadow at 5:00pm
until 6:00pm.
22nd October 2006 - Royals crash 1-7 in Meole
brace friendly
Royals today suffered their biggest defeat since
September 2004, and only their second loss since May 2005. With just
11 players available for selection due to holidays, even the
goalkeepers had to play one half each as an outfield player.
Meole started strongly and Royals had nothing to
match their pace and skill in the first half, as they struggled to
break out of their own half. However after the half time break
Royals did start playing some better football and played with more
passion. Bourne scored the consolation goal after a delightful
headed flick on by Lewis put him through.
A match report is
here.
19th October 2006 - Meole Brace friendly
confirmed
Royals take on Meole Brace Juniors this Sunday in a
friendly, arranged due to neither team having a prior fixture
arrangement. Last time the two teams met the game ended in a 0-0
draw, so another close encounter is hoped for. Both teams will be
under strength with some players unavailable for selection.
The match takes place at Russell's meadow with a
10:30 kick off.

18th October 2006 - Royals draw Tenbury in cup
quarter final
Royals have been drawn an away tie against Tenbury
in the quarter finals of the cup. They will be pleased with the draw
as they had no real difficulty in beating them in their last
encounter, just 4 weeks ago, by a 12-0 scoreline.
The complete draw looks like this:
Presteigne South v Ludlow North
Onny Eagles v Red Rovers
Tenbury v Church Stretton Royals
Presteigne North v Onny Plus
Matches to be played on 10th/11th November 2006
16th October 2006 - Weekend results round up
Royals slip to 4th spot in the table after their 2-2
draw with Presteigne at the weekend. However they do have a game in
hand over two of the three teams above them, which could move them
up at least two places if they win it.
Other results from the weekend were:
Orleton 1-7 Presteigne
Colts South
Tenbury 1-4 Onny Plus
Craven Arms 4-4 Red Rovers
Onny Eagles 3-2 Ludlow North
15th October 2006 - Royals held by Presteigne
Royals managed to salvage a point from their match
against Presteigne North today, when all looked lost at half time.
Presteigne were well worthy of their 2-0 lead at half time after
having punished Royals for their mistakes and scrappy play.
Defensively Royals looked all over the place and failed to cope with
the pace of Presteigne's forwards. In the second half though with
the introduction of Bourne and Allan, Royals began to settle down
and string some passes together and commanded the game for long
periods.
A goal from Bourne and an own goal gave Royals a
share of the spoils.
A match report will appear
here.
11th October 2006 - Presteigne match review
Royals entertain Presteigne North this weekend at
Russell's Meadow. This will be the first time that goalkeeper Craig
Keugler will have faced his former club. Although Royals had some
tough encounters against Presteigne last season, their opponents
have not made such a good start to this season as they would have
liked and will be aiming to set the record straight.
The match takes place on Sunday with a 11:00am kick
off.
10th October 2006 - Training sessions
The last session of training at Russell's Meadow
took place last week, as the dark evenings are now drawing in. From
this Thursday (12th) we will be training on the school tennis courts
from 6pm to 7pm.
9th October 2006 - Weekend results round up
Royals have dropped to third place in the table
behind Ludlow North and Red Rovers, due to the team not playing
yesterday. However if they win their game in hand, they will return
to top spot on goal difference.
The weekend's results were:
Craven Arms 1-2
Presteigne Colts North
Onny Plus 2-3 Coreley
Onny Eagles 8-1 Presteigne Colts South
Orleton 4-8 Red Rovers
Tenbury 1-7 Ludlow North
2nd October 2006 - Royals put 10 past Coreley in
first round
Royals claimed an ecstatic 10-1 win over Coreley
yesterday in the first round of the cup. Although Coreley defended
stoutly fir the first 15 minutes, once Bourne had struck home the
first goal, Royals were able to command the game.
Goals by Bourne 2, Carless-Turland 2, Lewis, Miles,
Agnew, Robinson, Allan, and an OG sealed Coreley's fate.
