16th December 2007 - Onny 0-4 Royals
Royals ended the first half of the season with a 4-0 win at second place Onny
Eagles. Although they won by 4 goals, the score rather flattered them. Onny were
their usual competitive selves and were prepared to give their all to get
something from the game, whilst the Royals struggled to play and looked rather
stale after their enforced break.
Green scored the first with a "Beckhamesque" free kick that he bent round the
Onny wall, after Smith had been hacked down just outside the area with only the
keeper to beat. Hearle was then gifted the second after a poor clearance by the
Onny keeper fell at his feet.
In the second half Lewis made it three after Smith trapped a corner for him
to fire home from close range. Then Hearle scored the fourth, with a rather
fortunate mis-hit.
Onny did come close on several occasions but could not get the ball past the
brilliant Keugler in the Royals goal.

10th December 2007 - Onny Eagles match preview
This Saturday sees top of the table Royals travel to the Burway to take on
second place Onny Eagles in what could be a deciding fixture for the u12s
league, in the final game before the Christmas break. When the teams met earlier
in the season Royals just did enough to beat their opponents 2-1 after a very
tight game. This was the first time Onny had been beaten for nearly 18 months.
Royals will be without striker Cochrane who has returned to Germany but will
be strengthened by the presence of Pryce who should be available for selection.
The game takes place at the Burway, Ludlow on Saturday with a 10:30am kick
off.
Royals will be wearing blue.
9th December 2007 - Red Rovers game cancelled
The friendly match against Red Rovers was cancelled this morning due to the
condition of the pitch. The recent rain had left certain areas "squelchy" and
with magpies U14s scheduled for a league game in the afternoon, it was decided
that the pitch would cut up too much if two games were played on it.
5th December 2007 - Friendly arranged for this weekend
Royals have a friendly this weekend against Red Rovers. It will be the first
time that the teams have met in an 11-a-side game since last season. The game
has been hastily arranged after the Coreley game last weekend was postponed.
The games takes place at Russell's Meadow on Sunday, with a 10:30am kick off.
Royals will play in blue.
4th December 2007 - Coreley v Onny Eagles to be re-arranged
Onny Eagles are to go unpunished for not being able to field a team for their
recent league match against Coreley. The SSJFL committee decided that Coreley
can re-arrange the fixture on a date that suits them. The rules state that a
team must play as long as they can field at least 7 players.
A game can only be postponed due to an unplayable pitch or a school function.
In that case the team must produce a letter from the school headmaster.
2nd December 2007 - Cup semi final postponed
Royals experienced their first postponement of the season today as their
League Cup semi final match against Coreley was called off due to a waterlogged
pitch. After the heavy rains experienced in the past 24 hours both goal areas of
the Clee Hill pitch were under 3-4 inches of water.
With a gap in the league fixture list next weekend, unless a friendly can be
arranged, it will mean that the team will go into the important game against
Onny Eagles not having had a game for 3 weeks.
