29th February 2008 - Cochrane injury doubt
Josh Cochrane is an injury doubt for Sunday's game after tearing a muscle in
the national schools cross country championships today. It is not yet clear how
bad the injury is, but it would come as a blow to the Royals if he could not
play, with Rory Smith not fully fit after last week's game.
28th February 2008 - Presteigne match preview
This weekend sees the Royals play their previously postponed cup
quarter-final against Presteigne. The game should have taken place 4 weeks ago
but the inclement weather at the time meant that it was not possible.
The teams have met twice previously this season where the Royals have managed
3-1 victories on both occasions. There will be a prize semi-final tie against
Coreley for the winners on this occasion.
The match takes place on Sunday at Russell's Meadow with a 10:30am kick off.
Royals will be playing blue.
24th February 2008 - Royals 4-0 Coreley
Royals maintained their lead at the top of the table today with a hard fought
4-0 win over Coreley. The game could have gone either way for the first 40
minutes and was most certainly the toughest test yet for the Royals this season.
The breakthrough came 7 minutes into the second half with a goal from Joe Hearle
and goals from Robinson (pen), Cochrane and Carless-Turland followed.

here.
21st February 2008 - Coreley match preview

both teams. Royals be looking to increase their lead at the top of the table
against one of the strongest teams in the league, whilst their opponents will be
hoping to close the gap at the top. Coreley have 3 games in hand over the 3
teams above them and could move to 2nd place if they were to win those and also
win on Sunday.
The teams have met once previously this season when the Royals came out 4-1
winners.
The game takes place on Sunday at Russell's Meadow with a 10:30am kick off.
Royals will play in red.
17th February 2008 - Lewis reaches his century as Royals march
on
Royals' striker Tom Lewis bagged his 100th goal since joining the club today,
as Royals overcame Onny Tigers 11-0. In a match that very nearly didn't take
place due to a double booking of the pitch at the Burway, Lewis received hearty
applause from the crowd on reaching his achievement.
The game eventually went ahead at Ludlow Town FC's Bromfield annexe after the
teams and supporters transferred, and a late pitch inspection found the
conditions to be playable.
Goals from Lewis (5), Grinker (2), Smith, Lock, Hearle and Weynberg earned
the points.

month due to postponements and half term. The team will be keen to maintain
their position at the top of the table and come away from the game with 3
points.
The game takes place on Sunday with a 10:30 kick off.
Royals will be playing in blue.

interleague trials will be taking place at the Bromfield pitches of Ludlow FC.
The session is from 9:30am till 11:00am and is the first in a series of trials
and practices prior to the interleague tournament which takes May in which sides
from Shrewsbury, Telford and South Shropshire will be competing.
11th February 2008 - Red Rovers friendly
Royals came out 3-2 winners in a hastily arranged friendly on Saturday
against local club Red Rovers. The game was closely matched with little between
the teams. Carless-Turland scored the opener for the Royals before Collins
equalised with a superb header from a corner. Two goals from Rory Smith restored
the lead to 3-1, and a consolation goal from Parton made the final score 3-2.
7th February 2008 - Half term break for SSJFL
There are no scheduled games this weekend in the SSJFL due to the half term
break. Royals continue their campaign on 17th February with an away fixture
against Onny Tigers.
Training will take place on Saturday from 9:30am to 11:00am.
6th February 2008 - Carless-Turland signs for Royals
Harvey Carless-Turland has signed for the Royals from Meole Brace for
the rest of the season. The left footed player played for the Royals for 4
seasons, scoring 69 goals in 100 appearances and is the third highest goal
scorer over that period.
With four games to make up due to postponements, some of which will be
midweek, the player will be a welcome addition to the squad.
5th February 2008 - Coreley Semi Final tie up for grabs
An away tie against Coreley is the reward for the winners of the quarter
final match between Royals and Presteigne, the game that was postponed last
weekend. If the Royals do beat Presteigne it would mean that they would have to
travel to Coreley for both cup semi finals. The teams also have to meet twice
more in the league before the end of the season.
In the other semi-final Onny Eagles host Tenbury North, after beating Onny
Tigers in the previous round.
The ties are to be played over the weekend of 8th/9th March 2008.
3rd February 2008 - Another game postponed
Royals cup tie against Presteigne was been postponed due to the inclement
weather over the weekend.
The team did train on Saturday morning but was limited in what it could do due
to the conditions. There was little improvement to the pitch overnight.
This postponement means that the team now has 4 games to catch up with, 2
against Presteigne and 2 against Coreley. Fortunately there are some blank weeks
in the fixture list where these games can be made up.
