28th July 2008 - Pre Season Training

It only seems like yesterday when the Royals played their last competitive match against Onny Eagles in the Pitt and Minton Cup Final. However August is upon us and this means that it is time to prepare for the 2008-09 season.

The squad will be training on Sunday mornings, commencing this Sunday 3rd August from 10:00am until 11:30am, at Russell's Meadow.

24th July 2008 - Pre Season Friendly

A pre-season friendly has been pencilled in for Sunday 31st August 2008 against Bishops Castle FC.

They will be an unknown quantity as the Royals have never met them before, but they play their football in the Mid and North Powys Junior Football league, home to Guilsfield and Waterloo, both of whom the Royals lost to in friendlies last season.

9th July 2008 - Coreley to move to Shropshire Junior League

Coreley U13s will be joining the Royals next season as they will also do battle in the Shropshire Junior League. it is not known at this stage whether the two teams will be in the same division.

7th July 2008 - Confirmation of League for 2008-09

Royals were this evening formally elected in to the Shropshire Junior Football League at an extraordinary general meeting, held at Shrewsbury's New Meadow Stadium.

This means that the club will be playing against a completely different set of teams from those who they have played over the last 5 years, which will give the players great experience and a tougher environment.

It is not yet known officially which division Royals will be playing in, although we have been told unofficially.
