30th November 2008 - Baschurch game
postponed
A heavy frost which worsened during
Saturday night meant that today's fixture
against Baschurch Juniors had to be called
off, meaning that Royals now have 3 games to
catch up.
27th November 2008 - More injury
worries
Two more injury worries have been thrown
upon the Royals ahead of this weekend's
game. Skipper Sam Green suffered a head
injury and concussion whilst playing rugby
and has only a 50/50 chance of being fit,
whilst midfielder Liam Moffat has ligament
damage, also after playing rugby. Moffat is
out for at least 2 weeks. With Luke Miles
already out, Royals will be fully stretched
this weekend.
27th November 2008 - Baschurch Juniors
match preview
Royals take on Baschurch Juniors this
weekend at Russell's Meadow. When the two
teams met on the first day of the season
Royals came out eventual 4-2 winners after
an exciting game. However Baschurch are
currently sitting in second place in the
table, with Royals in fifth place.
Royals will be eager to regain their
early season form which has been missing
over their last few games.
The game takes place at Russell's Meadow
on Sunday with a 10:00am kick off.
Royals will be playing
in blue.
27th November 2008 - Charity Cup
Quarter Final Draw
Royals would have met Baschurch Juniors
at home, had they have got through to the
quarter finals of the Charity Cup.
The full draw is:
Admaston Falcons v Oswestry Boys & Girls
Shrewsbury Juniors v Shrewsbury Junior Colts
Wrekin Bobcats v Saha
Meole Brace Junior Colts v Baschurch Juniors
26th November 2008 - Miles injury
worry
Royals midfielder Luke Miles will miss
the next few games with a reoccurrence of
the back injury that sidelined for several
games last season. The player is currently
waiting for results of x-rays taken, to try
and identify the problem.
23rd November 2008 - Weekend results
round up
Charity Cup 3rd Round
Admaston 2-1 Randlay Eagles
Shrewsbury Junior Colts 3-2 Old Wulfrunians
League
Baschurch 2-4 Shrewsbury Juniors

23rd November 2008 - Royals exit
Charity Cup
Royals were knocked out of the Charity
Cup this afternoon, after losing their 3rd
round tie against Meole Brace Colts by a
single goal. Royals did have their chances
though and were awarded a penalty with 5
minutes to go which was well saved by the
opponent's keeper. Lewis also came close
after hitting the bar. It was not to be
Royals' day though and Meole Brace scored
the winner in the last minute of normal
time.
A full report can be found
here.
18th November 2008 - Meole Brace Colts
match preview
Royals travel to Meole Brace this weekend
to play the Colts team. It is not yet known
if this will be decreed as a league match or
the postponed Charity Cup tie from last
Sunday. Royals have provided substantiation
that some of their players were involved in
school / county sporting activities, an are
awaiting the final confirmation from the
league.
Royals are currently 5th in the league
with Meole Brace Colts in 7th position.
The game takes place on Sunday 23rd
November with a 2pm kick off.
Royals will be playing
in red.
17th November 2008 - Charity Cup round
up
Whilst the Royals did not play their
Charity Cup game yesterday, most of the
other games did take place. In a replay of
last year's final, ex Royals Harvey
Carless-Turland and Dominic Robinson's Meole
Brace Juniors were defeated 9-1 by Oswestry.
The other results were as follows:
Baschurch 4-3 Madeley Colts
Saha 5-5 Oswestry Colts 5 (Saha win 6-5 AET)
MDT 2-2 Wrekin (Wrekin win 6-2 AET)
Meole Brace Juniors 1-9 Oswestry
Broseley 1-2 Shrewsbury Juniors
Meole Brace Colts v Church Stretton Royals
(match postponed)
Shrewsbury Junior Colts v Old Wolfs (match
postponed)
Admaston v Randlay Eagles (score
unavailable)
13th November 2008 - Charity Cup game
in doubt
Royals' game against Meole Brace Colts
this weekend is unlikely to go ahead, due to
players not being available. With both
school and county level sporting commitments
clashing with this game, Royals do not have
enough players available to be able to field
a team.
The league are currently investigating
whether the school and county commitments
take precedence over the cup competition, in
which case the game would take place the
following weekend.
If they do not take a precedence, then
Royals would exit the competition by
forfeiting the game.
9th November 2008 - Royals slip to 5th
place
Royals see themselves slip to 5th place
in the table after today's defeat against
Market Drayton. After this weekend's
fixtures Shrewsbury Juniors are the only
unbeaten team. The other results were as
follows:
Shrewsbury Juniors 3-0 Meole Brace
Juniors
Shrewsbury Junior Colts 4-2 Meresiders
Meole Brace Colts 2-8 Baschurch
9th November 2008 - Market Drayton
Tigers 6-3 Royals
Royals came
unstuck this afternoon against a well
organised Market Drayton side, who are
surely a better team than their league
position suggests. Royals found themselves
3-0 down at one stage and despite a much
improved second half performance, they were
not able to reduce the deficit.
5th November 2008 - Market Drayton
Tigers match preview
Royals look forward to a 70 mile round
trip this weekend as they travel to Market
Drayton for their league game against the
Tigers. Royals' opponents will go into the
game on the back of a good win against
Baschurch last weekend, whilst Royals will
look to maintain their winning form.
The game takes place on Sunday 9th
November 2008, with a 2:00pm kick off.
Royals will be playing in blue.
3rd November 2008 - Weekend Results
Round Up
Shrewsbury Juniors stay top of the A
division after defeating Meole Brace Colts
6-0. Meole Brace Juniors stay second, with
the Royals in third place.
Baschurch 3-5 Market Drayton Tigers
Church Stretton Royals 3-2 Shrewsbury Junior
Colts
Meresiders 1-4 Meole Brace Juniors
Shrewsbury Juniors 6-0 Meole Brace Colts
2nd November 2008 - Royals 3-2
Shrewsbury Junior Colts
Royals came
away from the Meadow today with 3 points and
will be hugely relieved that they did so,
after a below par first half performance saw
them going behind twice. In winning this
game they maintain the pressure on the top
two teams in the league. Their second half
performance was much improved and enough to
see off their opponents, with a winning goal
from Lewis 3 minutes from time.
