3rd August 2009 - Royals taken over by
Ludlow Town FC
Church Stretton Royals have been taken
over by Ludlow Town Football Club. After a
lot of discussion between both clubs it was
decided by the Royals' committee that this
would be a beneficial step for all those
involved with the club to merge with their
neighbouring club.
This move means that Royals players will
now be playing for Ludlow Town U14s for the
2009-10 season.
It also mean that they have use of the
excellent facilities at the SBS Stadium and
any players who wish to carry on playing as
they get older have a direct route to the
senior team.
Ludlow Town also has a link to West
Bromwich Albion FC and organises events and
functions with them.
Ron Leech will become manager of the new
U14s team.
