Magpies firing on all cylinders in first league match!

Church Stretton 11-0 Clun
(Carless-Turland 4, Case 3, Smith 2, Hearle, Adams) (League - 07-09-03)

The Magpies got off to the best possible start to their first ever league campaign, with a crushing victory over the inexperienced Clun side. Stretton showed their dominance as early as the third minute when Harvey Carless-Turland fired home the opening goal. From that moment onwards they never looked back and by half time had built up what proved to be an unassailable lead at 5-0.
The second half saw substitutes Jack Case, Kieran Adams and Hugo Jervis replacing Harvey Carless-Turland, Rory Smith and Joe Hearle and despite the change the Magpies continued to punish the weak Clun team.
Clun provided some resistance, and a fine solo effort by their captain, who took the ball past 2 Magpies players, saw Jordan Wells in the Magpies goal pull off his only necessary save of the match.
A great result to start the season with, but things will get tougher from here on.
