History

2003-04 was the first season for the team. They started off as U8s playing as part of Church Stretton Magpies FC in the South Shropshire Junior Football League. This was 5-a-side mini soccer. In their first season they finished 4th in the league and got to the League Cup final where they narrowly lost to Onny Juniors FC by 3 goals to 2. They also got to the final of the Orleton Village 5-a-side tournament where they only conceded one goal and were the only team not to lose a game. Unfortunately they lost the final to Tenbury Wells on penalties after sudden death.

2004-05 saw them progress to the U10s league and with it 7-a-side football, with the nucleus of the squad staying together. They were now U9s and due to South Shropshire having 2 year age groups, they had to play in the U10s league. They had another successful season and although finishing 4th in Division 2, they reached the final of the Division 2 cup where they again narrowly lost, this time to Coreley FC 1-0 after extra time. They also reached the final of the Orleton Village 7-a-side tournament where they lost to Leominster Minors 1-0 after extra time.

2005-06 was a memorable year for the Royals. This was the third year that they had kept the nucleus of their team together and they were expected to do well. Sure enough they had the most successful year that any team from Church Stretton had ever had, in winning the league and both cups. They lost just one game all season and after deserved their accolade after coming so close in previous seasons. Five of their squad of nine represented South Shropshire and three players were selected to trial at the Stoke City Development Centre.

2006-07 was the first season that the team played 11-a-side football. Although U11s, they played in the Division 1 of the U12s league. Seven new signings were made to the squad in Luke Miles & Michael Weynberg (Craven Arms), Sam Green (Onny Plus), Craig Keugler (Presteigne), Jack Agnew (Tiverton), Will Bourne and Jacob Allan (Unsigned). Jacob Allan subsequently left the squad midway through the season and has now joined Stretton Red Rovers FC. The team ended up finishing 2nd in the league, winning the Matthew Evans Cup and were losing finalists in the Ian Hughes Memorial Cup.

2007-08 saw the Royals become a football club in their own right, after they became affiliated to the Shropshire FA. They are now an U12s team and are playing in the SSJFL U12s league, Four players left the squad at the end of the 2006-07 season: Will Bourne to Red Rovers FC, Harvey Carless-Turland to Meole Brace Juniors FC, and Michael Brayne and Edward Groom. to Church Stretton Magpies FC. Dylan Grinker (Onny Juniors) and Richard Lock (unsigned) signed for the club for the 2007-08 season. A successful season was achieved with the club winning the SSJFL U12s league and the Pitt and Minton Cup.

2008-09 The Royals changed leagues for the start of the 2008-09 season. They moved over to the Shropshire Junior Football League, meaning that most of their away games would be in and around the Shrewsbury area. This league is generally considered to be of a higher standard than their previous league. Several new signings were made; Khalid Al-Houbani, Henry Leech and Nathan Baker (Onny Juniors), Jack Fielding (unsigned), Jake Watts (Stretton Red Rovers FC) and Liam Moffat (Shrewsbury Town). Dominic Robinson left the club to join Meole Brace Juniors and Josh Cochrane left to join a team near his home town of Aylesbury. Richard Lock left after just 3 league games to join Church Stretton Magpies. The club finished 3rd in the A division of the league, and were narrowly beaten in the final of the League Cup.
During the close season, Royals were taken over by Ludlow Town Football Club.

2009-10 Royals players started the 2009-10 season playing for Ludlow Town FC.
